Trails of Rockport
“He appointed
twelve-designating them apostle- that they might be with them.” (Mark
3:14)
The Trail experience helps to lead
an individual to God by reflecting Christ in Community: Making Disciples of Jesus
Christ for the Transformation of the World. By being a Trail participant you
will Encounter God’s Love, Grow in God’s Love, Give in God’s
Love and Serve in God’s Love.
Webster defines a trail as a path.
The Trails traveled at Rockport are paths that lead us on multiple journeys.
Each Trail takes its own direction and journey depending on the interest of
those walking the Trail. A Trail may meet in someone’s home, others in a
restaurant while another might meet in the Metro Parks. A Trail might lend itself
to quilting, bible study, sports events and biking just to list a few.
As a Trail participant you will
answer God’s call to participate in community in order to grow in Christ
likeness, to express and receive care from each other, pray, share your story
and be in relationship with others.
I believe God created us to be in
relationship (Genesis 1:26; 2:18-23). We affirm the presence of Christ among us
when we gather together. A Trail will enable you to have new opportunities to
become more involved with the members of our church family as well as with
others who are friends beyond the Rockport family circle. Trails are open to
your neighbors or a newcomer. Feel free to invite folks to join us.
Most Trails last only four to six
weeks. They meet at the convenience of the Trail members. For more information
see Reverend Barbara
A variety of Trails are ready for
you to embark upon. Sign up for the Trail of your choice in the hallway across
from the church office.
An Entertainment Book Trail Group is being formed and all
are invited to participate. Each month the group will attend a restaurant or
event using a coupon from the 2012 Entertainment Book. The Entertainment Book
is available to be purchased after Sunday Worship or from the Church Office
during the week..
Potluck Suppers: Leader Shari. Brunch for supper will be on Friday, Jan. 27 at
6:30 pm in the parlor. Sign-up sheet is on the Christian Ed. Table in the
